Hip-notic Music

It's 1:11am. I'm in a self-induced hip-notic trance.

There is not much better music for late night writing than Bill Frisell. Country blues jazz at its finest. The only music that comes close for me is John Fahey and Miles Davis. These men are great story tellers without ever uttering a word. Bill Frisell's masterfully mysterious album Ghost Town is an album that creates atmosphere and drama in the room with voices emerging from the corner as my mind begins to put shape to feelings and emotions and the process begins. The album is like a fertilizer for the mind, which craves expansion and expression. The interesting mix of classic americana like Wildwood with new originals speaks to my longing for nostalgia and desire to be part of the modern world. These harmonically rich explorations of sound merge with my waking desires and my slumbering dreams.

Late night music's got me rambling ya'll... peace and goodnight.
