Ross Rochford (2010 - present) Jerry teaches my teenaged son and has for over two years. He is not only relevant with song choice but makes it fun while insisting on the scales, chords...the basics. Ross has made significant strides in both technique and confidence. Jerry is prepared each lesson with a plan that reinforces a concept but makes exception if my son has something he really wants to learn during that lesson. Jerry has been willing to work around Ross's busy school schedule including last minute accommodation for athletic events, social events, or summer trips. I would say it is hard to find a more willing mentor that is truly invested in our son's growth as a musician, development as a young man, and progress as an artist. -Caroline Rochford

I began taking guitar lessons from Jerry in 1997 when I was 7 years old and stuck with him up until Jerry left for Nashville in 2003. I'm now 22 and recently graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in guitar performance. I would not be where I am today without the excellent instruction Jerry gave me. He taught me how to read music from the very beginning which gave me a huge advantage when I went to school for music. Most teachers would just skip the reading and do the fun stuff, especially in a very young player, but he is very patient and knows the importance of reading. I would recommend Jerry for anyone. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn a few tunes, or an advanced player looking to make a career in music."

Scott Waldrop (2007 - 2012) As an adult student picking up the guitar for the first time, I was very self conscious about appearing"dumb". Jerry's patience erased those early doubts and his passion for the guitar soon became my passion. He customizesthe lessons to the types of music that I like and gave me advice on selecting guitars when I was ready to upgrade my instrument. The convenience of lessons at my house means that I do not have to take my guitar into the office any more on lesson days!

Jerry knows his stuff. Whether you're a beginner or would just like to advance your playing ability, he can help you take your talent as far as you want to go. He's in tune with the music scene, enjoys all genres of music, and has his own great, unique style as a musician and a teacher. Kelley Mayo (2005 - 2011)

Subhankar Mukhopadhyay (parent of current student Lagnagita) says, "Jerry is a sincere, punctual and responsible guitar teacher. He is teaching my daughter during last 4 years. Now she is 14 and really enriched herself from Jerry's lesson. Jerry is student-friendly and accommodative. I highly recommend his name to all of my friends looking for a perfect guitar teacher."

Lagnajita Mukhopadhyay (2008 - present) Lagnajita has just recorded her first demo of original songs at Jerry’s Studio

I think the message that i carry with me from your lessons is that music is infinite. Learning from you, made me realize that I was only aware of the tip of the iceberg. Knowing that the gift you have - the relationship you share with music- is a gift from God, gives me one more reason to look forward to Heaven. Kim Charpentier (1998 - 2000)

Jocelyn Bailey (2008 - 2009) “Though I'd taken music lessons as a child, I was kind of nervous about learning a new instrument in my twenties. Jerry made learning guitar so much fun that I looked forward to our lesson every week, and I definitely impressed my friends with how well I could rock out!”

Joe Collier (2004 - present) "Whether it's learning music theory, strumming or picking styles, Jerry will not only teach you, but he'll also challenge you."

Brian Corner (1999 -2001) "I had a great time learning guitar with Jerry Oliver. Jerry had his hands full with me, when I came in with ten years of self-taught experience playing guitar, but he gently yet firmly deconstructed the unwitting flaws and deficiencies in my playing, while encouraging me to identify and bolster my existing strengths. With the patience of a saint, Jerry helped me develop a strong footing in the fundamentals of guitarmanship, and more broadly, helped me appreciate music in striking new ways."

Joe Collier(2004 - 2012) Jerry was the perfect instructor for me as someone who was a beginner. He will design your lessons based on what you want to learn whether that be rock, blues, country, finger picking, flat picking, or sight reading. Not only will you learn to play guitar, but you'll also learn some music theory. Jerry loves music.
